Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage Trustee Services operations in compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and industry best practices, ensuring effective governance, risk management, and service excellence for clients
Main Responsibilities:
- Investment and Regulatory Compliance – Monitor investments and asset holdings to ensure compliance with the RBA Act and Regulations, CMA Act and Regulations, and trust deed-prescribed limits. Escalate excesses to the line Manager for corrective action.
- Governance and Documentation – Maintain and update all incorporation documents for schemes under management, ensuring they are properly recorded, securely stored, and readily available.
- Approval Process Management – Process approval requests from fund managers, administrators, auditors, and custodians in a timely and efficient manner.
- KYC and AML Compliance – Conduct annual KYC/AML reviews for all clients under management and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Statutory Meetings and Records – Ensure proper issuance of meeting notices, documentation, and safekeeping of signed-off minutes for statutory meetings
- Compliance Monitoring and Issue Resolution – Track and oversee the resolution of all non-compliance issues identified during trustee compliance review meetings.
- Member Benefits Processing – Ensure timely processing of member withdrawal payments as per the assigned mandates.
- Audit and Risk Management – Address audit findings related to trustee services and ensure their resolution within stipulated timelines.
- Regulatory Licensing and Approvals – Coordinate the timely application and renewal of licenses from CMA, RDB, Pension Regulator, CSD, RSE, and other relevant authorities.
- Risk Oversight – Maintain and update the Trustee Services Risk Register, ensuring proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Daily Responsibilities.
- Daily Compliance Monitoring – Conduct daily reconciliations for trustee clients, escalating non-compliance issues for resolution.
- Transaction Oversight – Review transactions conducted by custodians, fund managers, and administrators to ensure Unit Trust Funds comply with CIS Regulations, Regulatory Guidelines, and BPR policies.
- Revenue Management – Oversee the billing and collection of trustee service f
- alation and Resolution – Identify and escalate compliance matters for prompt resolution.
- Other Duties – Perform any additional duties as assigned to support the efficiency and effectiveness of trustee services.
Educational qualifications and work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Economics, or a related business field
- Professional qualifications in CISI (level 1)
- At least Three (3) Years’ experience in Trustee Services-Related Experience (Trustee, Custody, Fund Management, Fund Administration), Banking experience, Relationship Management, Capital Markets Operations
- Master’s Degree is an added advantage
