The International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) is a pioneering transboundary initiative dedicated to the protection and preservation of the critically endangered mountain gorillas and their natural habitat in the Virunga Massif and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Founded through a strategic partnership between Fauna & Flora, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), IGCP works collaboratively with the governments of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. By integrating conservation science, community engagement, and sustainable tourism, IGCP aims to ensure the long-term survival of mountain gorillas while enhancing the well-being of the communities living around their habitats.
