The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) is a government institution responsible for administering social security in Rwanda. It was established in 2009 through the merging of the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (SSFR) and the Rwanda Medical Insurance Fund (RAMA). The RSSB manages various social security schemes, including pension, occupational hazard, medical, Community Based Health Insurance (CBHI), maternity leave benefits, and the EjoHeza long-term savings scheme.
The RSSB envisions a comprehensive social security system that addresses the needs of all Rwandans. Its mission is to provide high-quality social security services, ensure efficient collection of contributions, provide benefits, and manage and invest member funds wisely.
