Aquasante Rwanda Ltd is a for-profit company based in Rusizi-Kamembe. We operate a tilapia fish farm in Lake Kivu.

Job Description 

We are seeking an experienced Fish Health Practitioner to oversee the overall health and welfare of fish through monitoring disease treatments and biosecurity

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct routine health inspections and monitor fish stocks for signs of disease, stress, or abnormal behavior

• Collect and analyze samples to identify health risks

• Diagnose fish diseases and recommend appropriate treatment protocols

• Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to minimize disease outbreaks • Maintain accurate records of treatments, mortalities and health interventions • Prescribe and administer fish medications in compliance with veterinary and regulatory standards

• Ensure compliance with environmental and aquaculture health regulations

Qualifications and Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, Fisheries Science or a related field (Master’s preferred)

• Minimum +3 years of practical experience in aquaculture health management • Practical experience in aquaculture health management and disease diagnostics • Specialized training in fish pathology and aquatic animal health or biosecurity • Ability to train and mentor farm staff

Skills 

• Ability to conduct health inspections, interpret laboratory results and recommend effective treatments

• Strong knowledge of fish aquatic diseases and water quality management • Good analytical, problem-solving and research skills

• Driving license is an added value

Language: Fluent in English
